Site Configuration

Site Configuration

The Site Settings screen allows the assignor to manage site configuration options. To navigate to the Site Settings screen:

  • Click your name in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Click the Account link.
  • Click the Edit Settings link.
Site Name
This is the name of your site, as shown at the top of each screen. The site name is typically the name of your officials association, but you can change this to whatever you want.
Time Zone
The time zone for your site. This should be set to the correct value to ensure that notifications go out at the correct time.
Game Visibility

By default, your referees can only see their upcoming assignments. If you want to grant your referees access to view more, you can change this option to any of the following values:

  • View only their own assigned games. When your referees click the Games menu, they will only be able to view their own assignments.
  • View their own assignments, and any unassigned games. Your officials will see a menu item for their own assignments, and another menu item that shows all upcoming published games with one or more open positions. The names of the assigned referees are not visible.
  • View any game, without seeing names of assigned referees. This option allows referees to see their own games, any unassigned games, and a list of all games on your site. The names of the assigned referees are not visible.
  • View any game, including the names of the assigned referees. This option is the same as View any game, without seeing names of assigned referees, except that assigned referee names are visible.
Observer Permissions allows you to create "read-only" user accounts for coaches, athletic directors, league personnel, or anyone who needs to see the assigned referees for your site. These user accounts are granted the "observer" role, which allows them to run reports and see all games and referee assignments.

The Observer Permissions option allows you to specify how much referee personal information you would like your observers to view. You can choose any of the following options:

  • No information for a referee. Observers can see the names of the assigned referees, but cannot view any of the personal information on your referees.
  • All public information for a referee. Each referee can control their own privacy settings, and only allow certain pieces of information to be visible. When set to "public", observers can see any of the public details about a referee. This would be the same level of access your referees have for viewing information about each other.
  • All information for a referee. This setting allows observers to view all personal information about each referee.
Game Requests will allow you to manage game requests from your referees. By default, this feature is turned off.

  • Not allowed. This setting indicates that referees cannot request games through
  • Referees can request a game if it does not create a conflict. This indicates that a referee may only request a game if it does not create a conflict. For example, if a referee requests to work a game with an age group of Under 17, and their ability rankings do not allow the referee to work an Under 17 game, the referee will not be able to request the game.
  • Referees can request any game. This indicates that a referee may request any game, regardless of whether they have any defined conflicts with the game.
Assignment Limits

The Max Per Day, Max Per Week, and Max Per Month values can be used to enforce assignment limits for referees. This will ensure that a referee cannot work more than a given number of assignments per day, per week, or per month. By default, assignment limits are not set for a site or for a referee.

A site can be configured with an assignment limit, which will apply to all referees in the site. An individual referee may also have an assignment limit, based on the following rules:

  • If a limit is set for a site, but is not set for an individual referee, the site's value will be used.
  • If a limit is set for an individual referee, the referee's value will be used, and the site value will be ignored.
  • If a limit is not set for the site or the referee, a limit will not be enforced.

Weekly counts are calculated using a calendar week (Sunday-Saturday), and monthly counts are calculated based on a calendar month.

Declined Games has several configuration options related to declined games:

# Hours Notice Required to Decline a Game. imposes a rule that ensures that a referee cannot decline a game at the last minute. By default, a referee may not decline a game with less than 36 hours notice. To change this rule, change the value in the # Hours Notice Required to Decline a Game field.

When a game is changed with less than 36 hours notice... in some circumstances, a referee may need to re-confirm the game. For example, if a venue changes, or the start time changes, a referee will need to re-confirm the game. By default, a referee can decline a game that is changed on short notice. To turn this rule off, choose the A referee cannot decline the game option.

Removing Declined Assignments. The default behavior for a declined assignment is that the assignment will remain assigned to the referee, and the assignor is responsible for removing and re-assigning the referee. To change this behavior, choose the Will be immediately removed option.
